The Wirral South constituency comprises the central section of the Wirral Peninsula from Heswall on the Dee to Bebington, Bromborough and Eastham on the Mersey. It was formerly part of Cheshire and now occupies the most southern part of Wirral in Merseyside county.

Politically, the Wirral peninsula consists of the constituencies of Wirral South, Wirral West, Wallasey, Birkenhead, and Ellesmere Port and Neston. All but the latter come under Wirral Borough Council, a metropolitan borough. The constituency forms part of the North Western region for European Parliamentary elections.

The constituency was formed after the Parliamentary Boundaries review in 1982 from parts of the former constituencies of Wirral, and Bebington and Ellesmere Port and was held by Barry Porter for the Conservative Party from its creation until his death in 1996 and a Labour by-election victory which followed.

Wirral South Conservatives work to secure the election of a Conservative MP in the constituency and Conservative Councillors in the Wards.

In addition we are also here to deal with the concerns of the constituents and the issues that they have on a daily basis. We try to deal with them to resolve them as quickly as possible. This might be anything from nuisance teenagers causing trouble in the neighbourhood to cracked pavements that need bringing to the attention of the council.

As well as the work that we do within the association there is also a great social events calendar between the various branch events that are regularly organised.

Anyone is welcome to become a part of any branch that they choose. They can join in their work by canvassing - either by telephone or visiting - or by delivering some leaflets or they can just be part of the social aspect of that particular branch.

Everyone is a volunteer and we always hope people are able donate a small amount of your time this in turn shares the load across the other members and volunteers.

The Conservative team in the constituency consists of the Association officers, the Borough Councillors, and innumerable foot-soldiers!
